Student Innovators is a new student organization at UT Dallas with the goal of connecting students of different backgrounds in order to accomplish awesome things. We are a team of movers and shakers who back up crazy ideas with decisive action. We are big picture thinkers, big risk takers, and big problem solvers. We are social entrepreneurs, computer nerds, fitness junkies, creative designers, almost-main-stage musicians, and more. Student Innovators has a mission to be the student organization with the biggest positive impact at UTD. We are a hybrid organization- both a 501c3 non-profit and a UTD recognized student organization, and we grow and develop our members to become change-makers in their campus, communities, and companies by offering one-of-a-kind experiences that will revolutionize their career trajectory.

Job Description

We are looking for motivated students to join the Fund division and oversee the financial vision of Student Innovator’s Inaugural Semester. You will work with your team to raise funds for the organization, appropriately distribute funds to SIGs, Clubs, and Committees, keep accurate records of all financial transactions, and conduct general financial oversight of the organization. You’ll work closely with other SI Leadership and team members to foster a culture of boundless creativity and continuous improvement. Careers that this position can prepare you for include Business Development Manager, Venture Fund Associate, CEO or CFO of a Startup, and more.

Responsibilities

You will be working with a team of like-minded students to maintain operations and oversee responsibilities of the Fund. These responsibilities include:

  • Grow existing funds semester over semester through innovative ideas, projects, and solutions.
  • Oversee and present budgets, accounts, and financial statements while liasing with other members of Leadership regarding financial matters.
  • Manage and establish appropriate systems for banking, book keeping, and record keeping.
  • Make decisions on how funds should be distributed and allocated across the organization, ensuring smooth transition of said funds following each decision.
  • Comply with University and organizational rules regarding financial matters.
  • Play a key role in the Student Innovators Leadership team and contribute to SI’s long-term organizational and strategic plans.

  • You’re comfortable with spreadsheets, and the rest of the Google apps suite of products, with an ability to learn new software and platforms.
